I made this artwork to be somewhat of a buddy to Glow Peace. In fact, I painted the two 10 inch square wood panels together, but this one has a more solid coat of paint.
Using the same Golden heavy body fluorescent orange paint, I first created a winter-like tree to one side. I tried to make it look a little bit scaly, like real bark — to give it more texture and appeal.
Now I made a pair of braided yarn cords, using the same yarns as for Glow Peace, so they COULD match, if someone wished to purchase them as a duo.
I had been making some little clay bunnies and birds for the Glow Forest, and experimented with some layouts between them both, splitting up the glow-in-the-dark painted animals.
Eventually I settled on the following arrangement, painting the moon, stars, letters, and animals in the same alternating layers of Golden heavy body phosphorescent green paint and Speedball glow-in-the-dark acrylic ink I had used in Glow Peace.
This artwork along with its cousin, Glow Peace, and their buddy, Glow Forest, have been delighting my senses and warming my heart each night when I turn out the lamp on my art table. How comforting is their friendly glow on my wall! 😀
This one-of-a-kind glow-in-the-dark artwork is for sale on Etsy!
