Texture Heart

This is one of the first pieces of art I’ve ever made on a canvas.
It started by spreading glass bead gel and setting a wooden filigree heart down into it.
When the bead gel was dry, I painted the whole thing with watered-down acrylic paint that resembled a watercolor wash.

I love how the wood absorbed some of the paint as well. šŸ˜€

Another thing I enjoy is braiding cords, so I made a soft one reflecting the colors of this heart piece.
Eventually, I glued the matching cord around the edges of the frame and added more texture using eyelash yarn.

That’s a lot of awesome texture, full of contrasts between soft and rough. šŸ˜€

This endearing piece of texture art is for sale on Etsy!
